The Green Seed, located in Canby, is now EcoBiz Certified. This business offers sustainable landscape design and build, and a Certified Naturally Grown nursery.
“Our goal is to create all of our designs in the most sustainable way possible.” Owners, Emily and Austin, consider sustainability at every step. To achieve this goal, every design includes a minimum of 5% native plants. For plants that are non-native, they select non-invasive, low maintenance, drought-tolerant plants that attract pollinators. Because of this careful selection, plants thrive where they are planted and need less pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Even when these products might be warranted, The Green Seed chooses non-chemical alternatives, such as hand weeding.
In addition, The Green Seed offers design elements such as rain gardens to reduce stormwater pollution, lawn alternatives, and much more. The Green Seed is also a preferred contractor for the Backyard Habitat Certification Program. See below to get in touch.
